Understanding Cancer: A Brief Overview
What is cancer? It’s a disease characterized by the uncontrolled division and multiplication of cells within the body. This rapid growth leads to the formation of abnormal cells, which exert pressure on healthy tissues and organs. Moreover, these cells have the ability to break away and establish growth in other parts of the body, a process known as metastasis. When this occurs, the disease is referred to as metastatic cancer.
Cancer has numerous causes that contribute to its uncontrolled growth. However, the goal of treatment is to effectively manage the growth of these cells, preventing them from forming tumors and spreading throughout the body.
